Strong Skeleton- Less Suffering

We believe that our skeleton will provide us a solid and strong framework for lifetime and will protect all organs of our body however sometimes we forget that it also needs tender loving care just like our skin, hair or heart. If today we lag behind in care for our bones then we have to pay tomorrow with severe pain and suffering.
Some tips to avoid your suffering or fragile bones
Eat your way towards Healthy and Stronger bones
Standard human body contain 1kg of calcium, 99 percent of which is stored in our bones. Calcium is the major requirement for healthy and stronger bones however other vitamins and minerals are equally important for healthy body like vitamin D is vital to absorb calcium in our body.
A healthy balanced diet contains:
  • milk and dairy foods
  • some meat, fish, eggs, beans, and other non-dairy sources of protein
  • plenty of fruit and vegetables (at least 5 portions of a variety every day)
  • plenty of starchy foods, such as bread, rice, potatoes and pasta
  • wholegrain varieties whenever possible

Get physical!
Regular weight-bearing exercise like jogging, aerobics, dancing and brisk walking strengthens the skeleton of the body.
Weight lifting is another good type of bone-building exercise, where the action of the tendons increases thus enhancing the bone strength.
Patients with osteoporosis need to be careful of vigorous, high impact exercises however it's equally important to stay active to avoid further diseases. Swimming, gardening, walking and playing golf might keep you fit while lower risk of falling and breaking a bone. An active lifestyle ensures a fine balance and co-ordination in your body and also develops muscle strength.

No to Alcohol and Smoking

Smoking and unlimited alcohol has severe and toxic effects on bone by stopping the construction cells from doing their work.
